APC Deploys Over 1,000 Officials to Oversee Imo Primary Elections

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the strategic deployment of over 1,000 electoral officials to Imo State to oversee the smooth and transparent conduct of its upcoming primary elections.

The massive deployment is part of the party’s comprehensive plan to guarantee the integrity of the internal voting process across all the wards, local government areas, and senatorial districts in the state.

According to party sources, the officials comprising monitoring committees, returning officers, and technical assistants have undergone specialized training at the APC national headquarters to equip them for the high-stakes legislative and local nominations.

Their primary mandate is to enforce compliance with the party’s constitution, maintain a completely level playing field for all aspirants, and ensure that the election results accurately reflect the will of card-carrying party members.

The national leadership emphasized that this intensive deployment is also a proactive security and administrative measure. Given the highly competitive nature of politics within the state, the presence of a robust, neutral workforce from the national headquarters is intended to deter irregularities, prevent the manipulation of delegate lists, and minimize internal friction that could lead to post-primary litigation.

The deployed teams are expected to collaborate closely with security agencies and independent observers on the ground. APGA and APC stakeholders in the region have been urged to cooperate fully with the visiting officials to preserve order and foster a unified front ahead of the general elections.
