Celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James and her husband, entrepreneur Femi Atere, have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Eliana Adeife Atere, born on May 2, 2026.

The couple announced the arrival on Wednesday, May 13, sharing a heartfelt video on Instagram that introduced their daughter to the world for the first time, nearly two weeks after she was born.

In the post, Veekee revealed that Eliana arrived at 7:12 pm, weighing 3.83 kilograms and measuring 53.5 centimetres at birth. The announcement was accompanied by a tender video montage of the family’s earliest moments together the newborn dressed in a soft pink knitted outfit with her name embroidered across it, Femi cradling his daughter and pressing a kiss to her forehead, and Veekee breastfeeding in a white lace robe in a quiet, intimate frame that the internet quickly fell in love with.

The couple also took care to explain the deep significance of their daughter’s name. Breaking it down, Veekee wrote that “EL” means God and “ANA” means He has answered, making Eliana a declaration of faith that translates fully to “My God has answered.” She accompanied the post with 1 Samuel 1:27, the biblical verse that reads: “For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him.”

The choice of verse reflected a journey the couple had previously spoken about openly one that involved trying to conceive for over a year before the pregnancy was confirmed.

Veekee first announced the pregnancy on February 3, 2026, drawing an immediate wave of congratulations from celebrities and fans across Nigeria. The announcement was followed shortly after by a lavish gender reveal held in Dubai across the weekend of February 7 to 8, where the couple confirmed they were expecting a baby girl.

The birth of Eliana now brings that chapter to its full and celebrated close.

The couple, who married in a widely talked-about three-ceremony wedding in February 2024 following their engagement in June 2023, have built a joint public presence that extends well beyond Veekee’s fashion label.
