Adaora Soludo Awards Scholarships to 10 Female University Students
The first daughter of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, Adaora Soludo, has awarded scholarships to 10 underprivileged female university students in the state.
This was done through her non-governmental organisation, the Gloria Foundation, which she recently relaunched. The gesture aims to support girls from poor backgrounds in pursuing higher education.
The Gloria Foundation was established in memory of the late Mrs Gloria Uzomaka Ezenwanne, a renowned educator. Adaora Soludo explained that the scholarship programme is part of the foundation’s Education Support Scheme. It provides full tuition support to help bright but financially disadvantaged girls complete their university education.
During the relaunch event, Adaora Soludo said the initiative is meant to create hope and inspire confidence in young girls. She emphasised that every girl deserves to be supported and encouraged to become the best version of herself.
The beneficiaries also received sanitary pads as part of efforts to address challenges affecting female students.
The scholarship recipients expressed deep gratitude for the support. They noted that the financial assistance would greatly boost their academic pursuits and give them hope for a brighter future. Many see this as a timely intervention that will reduce the burden on their families.
This kind gesture by Adaora Soludo highlights the important role of private initiatives in supporting education, especially for the girl child. It is expected to motivate more young women to pursue their dreams despite financial difficulties.
The Gloria Foundation’s focus on female education is seen as a positive contribution to human capital development in Anambra State.
