AFCSC Delegation Commends Jigawa’s Security, Hospitality

Participants of Senior Course 48 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, have commended Jigawa State for its peaceful atmosphere, hospitality and commitment to security and community development.

The delegation gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to Governor Umar Namadi at the Government House in Dutse as part of the college’s nationwide study tour.

Leading the delegation, the Commandant of the college, Air Vice Marshal Alfred Olugbenga Shogbanmu, said Jigawa was selected for the exercise because of its reputation as one of the most peaceful and stable states in the country.

According to him, the annual study tour was designed to expose participants to practical governance, security management, and community engagement strategies across selected states in Nigeria.

He explained that this year’s tour focused on the theme, “Promoting Community Engagement for Enhanced National Security and Prosperity.”

Shogbanmu noted that the institution regularly tasks participants to study national issues critically and develop practical recommendations capable of addressing contemporary security and governance challenges.

He added that members of the delegation would engage with relevant stakeholders and government institutions in Jigawa State over the next few days to assess initiatives aimed at sustaining peace, security and development.

Also speaking, the team leader and Director of the Land Warfare Department at the college, Brigadier General Omopariola, described Jigawa as peaceful, hospitable, and development-driven.

Responding, Governor Namadi thanked the leadership of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College for choosing Jigawa for the exercise and commended the commandant for personally leading the delegation.

The governor assured the visitors that ministries, departments, and agencies of government had been directed to provide the team with all necessary support and information required for their research activities.

Namadi attributed the state’s relative peace to cooperation among security agencies, sustained collaboration between government and residents, and what he described as the grace of God.

He also praised security formations operating within the state, especially the 26 Armoured Brigade and other agencies, for their role in maintaining peace and stability.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence, national security and sustainable development.

The delegation included senior military officers, directing staff, and participants from the Nigerian Armed Forces as well as representatives from friendly countries including Ghana, Benin, and Chad.
