Tinubu Aide, Fasua Says N10,000 Can Feed Modest Family for Several Days

President Bola Tinubu’s aide has sparked reactions with his comment on the cost of feeding in Nigeria. Dr. Tope Fasua, Special Adviser on Economic Affairs, said a modest family can feed for several days with just N10,000.

He made the remark during a discussion in Abuja, urging Nigerians to manage their spending wisely.

Fasua explained that the statement was made in the context of rural areas where living costs are lower. He advised people to cut their coat according to their size and focus on buying food items they can prepare at home instead of spending on unnecessary things. According to him, careful spending and discipline can help families survive the current high prices of goods.

The comment came during an exchange with participants who complained about the rising cost of living and economic hardship. Many Nigerians have been struggling with expensive food items and other daily needs. Fasua acknowledged the challenges but encouraged a more practical approach to daily expenses.

This remark has drawn mixed responses from the public. While some see it as good advice on financial discipline, others feel it does not fully reflect the difficulties faced by average families, especially in cities. The statement has generated debates on social media about the true state of the economy.

As discussions continue, the presidential aide’s words have brought attention to the need for better understanding of how ordinary Nigerians are coping. Many hope that government policies will continue to address food prices and ease the burden on households. The coming days may see more reactions and possible clarifications on the issue.
