Kenneth Okonkwo Commends Tinubu’s Political Strength
Former presidential spokesman and ADC chieftain, Kenneth Okonkwo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his conduct during the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries ahead of the 2023 general election.
Speaking during a live interview on Channels Television, Okonkwo said Tinubu did not complain or rely on his position as the party’s National Leader but instead demanded a free and fair contest.
According to him, Tinubu accepted the possibility of defeat and chose to prove his political strength at the party’s primary election held at Eagle Square in Abuja.
“Tinubu didn’t start whining or crying, or saying I’m the National Leader, see what you are doing to me,” Okonkwo said during the interview.
“He said just allow me to contest in a free and fair primary, if I’m defeated I will accept it.”
Okonkwo further stated that the president demonstrated his political capacity by defeating all other contenders during the APC primaries.
“He went to prove his capacity in Eagle Square, he went into the primaries and defeated everybody,” he added.
Tinubu emerged as the APC presidential candidate after defeating several aspirants at the party’s convention before eventually winning the 2023 presidential election.
