Afrobeats Star Davido to Be Honoured in United States
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Davido has been named among the honourees for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta.
Organisers announced the recognition in a social media post on Thursday, confirming that the singer would be inducted during the 2026 ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside district.
According to the organisers, Davido was selected in recognition of his contributions to music, philanthropy and entrepreneurship, as well as his role in expanding the global reach of African music.
The organisers stated that the singer had helped project Afrobeats onto the international stage through hit songs, performances and collaborations that crossed cultural boundaries while remaining connected to his African roots.
They also commended his influence beyond music, noting that his philanthropic and business activities had inspired emerging artists globally.
The honour places Davido among entertainers and public figures recognised for their contributions to Black culture and global entertainment.
