Taraba Lawmakers Buy APC Forms for Governor Kefas, Declare it “Winning Form”

In a strong show of support, Senator Haruna Manu and other top lawmakers from Taraba State have bought the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas’s re-election bid on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The delegation, which included Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau and former Governor Jolly Nyame, made the purchase in Abuja. Senator Manu, who represents Taraba Central, led the group and described the gathering as a powerful display of unity.

Speaking to Unfiltered Reporting at the TRUST Suites Hotel in Abuja, Senator Manu said everybody that matters in Taraba politics was present. “The Taraba State Speaker, Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, and other critical stakeholders are here. We are here to submit the winning form,” he declared. He stressed that Governor Kefas is the main reason for the strong gathering, signalling a rare agreement across different political groups in the state.

The move is seen as a clear message ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election. By coming together to buy the forms, the lawmakers are showing that Governor Kefas enjoys the full backing of Taraba’s political establishment. This unity is expected to reduce any serious challenge during the APC primaries and discourage opposition candidates.

Later on Thursday, Senator Manu, Senator Lau, and former Governor Nyame arrived at Danbaba Suntai Airport in Jalingo, further boosting the momentum for the governor’s second-term ambition.

Political observers believe this early action will help mobilise supporters and send a signal of strength to other politicians in the state.

The forms will now be submitted to the APC national secretariat. Although Governor Kefas is yet to make a formal declaration, the purchase of the nomination forms by these senior leaders is widely viewed as the beginning of his re-election journey.

Many see this development as a strategic step that could make his return to office smoother.
