Atoyebi Highlights Key Appointees Driving Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
The Convener of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG), Bamidele Atoyebi, has identified a group of top government officials as key drivers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, citing their performance as evidence of effective policy execution.
In a policy brief, Atoyebi said the success of the administration depends not just on policy formulation but on the commitment of political appointees to deliver measurable results.
He listed the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, as a leading performer, noting that he has consistently exceeded revenue targets while expanding the tax net through digital reforms and improved transparency.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, was also commended for stabilising the financial system amid inflation and foreign exchange challenges, including clearing forex backlogs and restoring investor confidence. Cardoso was recently named Central Bank Governor of the Year at the 2025 African Banker Awards.
Atoyebi further highlighted the contributions of Taiwo Oyedele, who leads the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, for proposing a simplified tax structure aimed at supporting businesses and improving efficiency.
At the Ministry of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo was credited with clearing passport backlogs and introducing automated systems, while Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo was praised for resolving longstanding sectoral disputes and improving Nigeria’s global aviation ratings.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, was also cited for overseeing major infrastructure projects nationwide, including highway construction and road modernisation efforts.
Similarly, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), was recognised for securing legal victories for the government, including a Supreme Court ruling on local government financial autonomy and defending the country in international disputes.
Atoyebi said the performances of these officials demonstrate that the administration’s goals are achievable when mandates are effectively executed. He, however, urged other public office holders to match this level of commitment to ensure that the benefits of reforms reach citizens across the country.
He added that sustained implementation and stronger engagement with grassroots communities remain critical to translating government policies into tangible improvements in living conditions.
Honourable Bamidele Atoyebi, the convener of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group, also serves as the national coordinator of Accountability and Monitoring Policy PR and a publisher of Unfiltered and Mining reports.
