APC Revises 2027 Election Timetable, Release Payment Accounts
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.
This announcement, coming from the party’s National Secretariat at Buhari House in Abuja, is designed to ensure strict adherence to the 1999 Constitution and the provisions set forth in the Electoral Act 2026.
The communication was formally endorsed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and further confirmed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka. This coordinated release underscores the party’s intent to maintain transparency and order as it prepares for the upcoming electoral cycle.
Aspiring candidates should note that the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms officially opened on April 25 and will conclude on May 2, 2026. Following this window, all completed forms must be submitted to the party leadership no later than May 4, 2026, to be eligible for the subsequent screening process.
The rigorous screening of all aspirants—ranging from State Houses of Assembly to the presidential level—is scheduled to take place from May 6 through May 9, 2026. For those who may contest the screening outcomes, a specific window for appeals has been allocated from May 12 to May 13, 2026, targeting both State and National legislative aspirant groups.
The critical phase of primary elections is set to commence on May 15, 2026, starting with the House of Representatives. This process will continue through the subsequent selection of candidates for the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and finally the presidency, with the entire exercise scheduled for completion by May 23, 2026.
The party has also clarified the financial commitments required for participation. Presidential aspirants face a total fee of N100 million, comprising N30 million for the Expression of Interest and N70 million for nomination. Governorship aspirants are expected to pay N50 million, while Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly spots require N20 million, N10 million, and N6 million respectively.
In a move to promote inclusivity, the APC has introduced significant fee reductions for specific demographic groups. While female aspirants, youth, and physically challenged candidates must pay the full fee for the Expression of Interest, they are granted a 50 percent discount on the prescribed nomination fees for their intended positions.
To finalize the process, the party has mandated that all payments be directed to specific, designated bank accounts. Aspirants are instructed to remit funds in full to either Union Bank (account number 0239691733), UBA (account number 1025098328), or Zenith Bank (account number 1014008105) to ensure their applications are processed without delay.
