Mimiko Resigns from PDP

Olusegun Mimiko, for er Indo State governor has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made the announcement through a formal letter, bringing an end to his long stay in the party. The news has surprised many people in political circles, especially in Ondo State where Mimiko remains a well-known figure.

Mimiko served as governor of Ondo State for two terms and was once a strong member of the PDP. He joined the party after leaving the Labour Party some years ago. His resignation now leaves questions about his future political plans and where he might go next.

The former governor did not give detailed reasons for leaving the PDP in his letter. However, his exit comes at a time when many politicians are repositioning themselves ahead of future elections. Mimiko has always been seen as a grassroots leader with strong support in parts of Ondo State.

His departure is expected to have some effect on the PDP in the South West. The party is already dealing with internal issues in several states. Many observers believe Mimiko’s move could open the door for new alliances or even a return to another political group.

As the news spreads, people in Ondo and across the country are watching closely to see what step Mimiko will take next. His long experience in politics makes him an important player, and his resignation has added fresh excitement to the political scene in the coming months.
