41 Suspected Kidnappers Arrested, Seven Rescued in Kaduna Police Crackdown

The Kaduna State Police Command have arrested 41 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers during a major security crackdown conducted between March and April 2026.
Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, confirmed that the intelligence-led operations also resulted in the rescue of seven victims and the recovery of 24 firearms and 200 rounds of live ammunition.
Key breakthroughs included the arrest of a gunrunner in Kagarko who possessed 20 fabricated guns, and the interception of ammunition hidden inside a sack of guinea corn from Zamfara.
Police operatives dismantled criminal networks in Makarfi and Kubau, arresting several suspects linked to abductions in Tashan Yari, Pambegua, and other surrounding communities.
Several informants who were facilitating banditry in Kachia, Giwa, and Kauru were apprehended, alongside 13 gang members involved in armed robbery and phone snatching in Rigasa.
The crackdown further led to the recovery of 50 rustled cows in Soba and Giwa, as well as the arrest of suspects involved in homicide cases and motorcycle theft.
Commissioner Muhammad assured the public that all suspects will be prosecuted and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining the offensive against crime throughout the state.
