New Ogun FRSC Commander Declares Zero Tolerance for Extortion

The newly appointed Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Oludare Ogunjobi, has made a strong promise to end extortion among his officers.

During his first address to the command, he declared zero tolerance for any form of extortion or corruption. He took over from the previous commander and wants to bring positive changes to road safety operations in the state.

Ogunjobi stressed the need for discipline, professionalism, and teamwork among all officers. He warned that actions like absenteeism, lateness, improper dressing, and leaving duty posts without permission will not be allowed.

Any officer found guilty of extortion or rude behaviour towards the public will face serious disciplinary action. He directed the provost to enforce these rules firmly and fairly.

The commander said he will focus on intelligence-driven operations to reduce road crashes by at least 10 percent. He also plans to make the FRSC more customer-friendly by improving how officers interact with road users.

He called for better cooperation with other government agencies, transport unions, community leaders, and the media to achieve safer roads.

Ogunjobi assured officers that their welfare will be taken seriously to boost morale and performance. He reminded them that no one can achieve the FRSC goals alone and urged everyone to work with unity and excellence.

He thanked the Corps Marshal for giving him the opportunity to serve in Ogun State.

This declaration is expected to bring relief to motorists who often complain about extortion on Ogun roads. Many people hope the new commander will follow through with his words and create a better experience for road users. The move shows a renewed commitment to making the Federal Road Safety Corps more honest and effective in its duties.

Overall, the announcement sends a clear message that indiscipline will no longer be tolerated. It highlights the importance of integrity in public service and could help improve road safety across Ogun State if properly implemented.
