‎FG, N’Assembly Committed to peaceful Nigeria, Says Akpabio

‎Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has reaffirmed the Federal Government and National Assembly’s commitment to restoring Nigeria as one of Africa’s most secure nations.

 

Speaking at the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day service in Abuja, he emphasized the government’s focus on building a peaceful environment where all generations can thrive.

‎Akpabio paid tribute to fallen soldiers, stating that their sacrifices are the foundation of Nigeria’s unity and progress. He noted that these contributions strengthen the government’s resolve to build a safer nation, stressing that today’s leadership decisions will directly shape the country’s future stability.

‎Highlighting Nigeria’s vast linguistic and religious diversity, the Senate President described the constitutional freedom of worship as a vital pillar of democracy. He urged for the protection of these rights at all times to ensure peaceful coexistence among the nation’s many ethnic and cultural groups.

‎The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), added that President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to equipping and motivating the Armed Forces. While acknowledging current national challenges, he expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its security hurdles through professional service and government support.
