Lawan Predicts Over 75% Northern Votes for Tinubu in 2027, Backs Grassroots Mobilisation Network
Former Senate President and current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has expressed strong confidence that northern Nigeria could deliver more than 75% of its votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Lawan made the projection while endorsing the activities of the Tinubu House-to-House Network, a volunteer-driven mobilisation group working to strengthen the president’s support base across the North.
Speaking during an engagement with members of the group, Lawan said the region had already demonstrated significant support for Tinubu in the 2023 election, reportedly contributing about 63% of the northern vote to his victory.
With deeper grassroots outreach, he believes that figure can be pushed beyond 75% in the next election cycle.
Lawan, who was recently named National Patron of the House-to-House Network, urged its coordinators to intensify community-level engagement, noting that real electoral influence is built through direct interaction with citizens.
He emphasised that northern Nigeria remains a powerful political bloc whose mobilisation will be crucial to the APC’s success in 2027.
He also highlighted President Tinubu’s ongoing policies and programmes as reasons grassroots support should be expanded, arguing that the government’s reforms would resonate more with voters if properly communicated at local levels.
The House-to-House Network, made up of volunteer mobilisers, aims to deepen political awareness by reaching voters directly in homes, marketplaces, and community gatherings.
The group described Lawan’s endorsement as a boost to its nationwide operations.
Lawan’s projection adds to the early political positioning ahead of the 2027 race, with the APC pushing to consolidate its support base while signalling confidence in winning a second term for President Tinubu.
