Housing Ministry Gives Contractors Six Months to Complete Nasarawa Project

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has issued a six-month ultimatum to contractors handling the Renewed Hope Estate Project in Nasarawa State, urging them to expedite work and ensure timely completion of the project.

The directive was given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, during a working visit to the construction site, according to a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Affairs, Badamasi Haiba, and released in Abuja on Friday.

Dr. Belgore emphasized that the ministry remains committed to delivering on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing Agenda, which seeks to provide affordable and quality housing to Nigerians across the country.

“We are determined to deliver this project within the next six months. I urge all contractors to redouble their efforts and adhere strictly to quality standards and timelines,” the Permanent Secretary stated.

He reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the execution of the Renewed Hope housing projects nationwide, adding that contractors would be held responsible for any delays or substandard work.

Dr. Belgore also commended the level of progress recorded so far but noted that more needed to be done to meet the set delivery target.

He directed project supervisors and resident engineers to intensify monitoring to guarantee quality and speed of implementation.

The Renewed Hope Estate initiative is one of the Federal Government’s flagship housing projects under President Tinubu’s administration, designed to address Nigeria’s housing deficit, create jobs, and stimulate local economic growth through construction and allied industries.

The statement further noted that similar monitoring visits will continue across other project sites to ensure uniform compliance with the government’s delivery timelines.
