Tinubu Will Harvest Huge Votes From South East in 2027, Opines Bwala

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has expressed confidence that the president will record a significant surge in votes from the South-East region in the 2027 presidential election.
Tinubu is expected to secure approximately two million votes in the region, a substantial rise from the 127,370 votes he garnered in 2023, representing at least four to six times the votes he secured in the previous election.
Bwala attributes this anticipated surge to various factors, including the recent shift of some southern governors to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and endorsements from governors in opposition parties.
The adviser believes the region has a large voting population that could favor Tinubu.
Regarding Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Bwala expressed doubts about his chances in the 2027 election. He believes Obi won’t secure a ticket in any major party, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and might not even get a vice-presidential slot.
According to Bwala, Obi’s influence has waned, with his votes built on “rhetoric and division” rather than concrete political agendas, potentially reducing his support base by 50%. Bwala suggests that Obi’s votes were not built on solid political foundation, which could impact his future electoral prospects.
