Nasboi Survives Car Crash During 36-State Tour to Seek Davido Collaboration

Nigerian comedian-turned-musician, Nasiru Bolaji Lawal, popularly known as Nasboi, was involved in a car accident while traveling through Bauchi State as part of his bold 36-state campaign to secure a music collaboration with Afrobeats superstar, Davido.

The multi-talented entertainer embarked on a nationwide tour in May 2025, pledging to kneel in front of each state government secretariat in a heartfelt appeal for a feature from Davido.

The journey, which started in Osun State, has since taken him through Kano, Imo, Anambra, Katsina, Niger, Plateau, and more, drawing widespread attention and support on social media.

The accident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, June 3, while Nasboi and his team were en route to Bauchi.

Though details about the cause of the crash remain unclear, the entertainer took to Instagram Live shortly after the incident to reassure fans that he was safe and uninjured.

“I had never been involved in a car crash before. I can only laugh about it,” Nasboi said, appearing visibly shaken but maintaining a positive demeanor.

While the vehicle sustained visible damage, Nasboi confirmed that he plans to repair it and continue the tour undeterred.

Nasboi’s unconventional campaign—traveling across all 36 Nigerian states to request a Davido feature—has sparked admiration across the country.

Videos of the entertainer kneeling before government buildings and interacting with fans have gone viral, fueling conversations about ambition, persistence, and the evolving nature of celebrity relationships in the digital age.

Although the move began as a bold publicity stunt, it has since morphed into a national talking point, with hashtags like #NasboiForDavidoVerse trending across Nigerian Twitter (X) and Instagram.

Nasboi, who gained popularity through his hilarious impersonations of Davido back in 2019, has since made a significant pivot to music.

His recent songs, including “Umbrella” featuring Wande Coal and “Small Money,” have been well-received, further establishing him as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.

As of the time of this report, Davido has not made any public statement regarding Nasboi’s plea. However, fans remain hopeful that the DMW boss will eventually acknowledge the campaign, especially given Nasboi’s creative persistence and growing support.

Despite the crash, Nasboi is determined to complete his journey and fulfill his promise of visiting all 36 states.

In his words, “We move,” as he called for support to fix his vehicle and continue his mission.

Whether or not the campaign results in the long-anticipated feature with Davido, Nasboi’s nationwide trip has already made a strong cultural impact—highlighting the lengths to which artists will go for their dreams in Nigeria’s ever-competitive entertainment landscape.
