I’ll Eradicate Menace of Banditry in Katsina State, Vows Radda

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has reassured residents of his administration’s determination to eradicate the menace of banditry in the state.

This pledge was made during a condolence visit to Gobirawa village in Dutsinma Local Government Area, where a recent attack by bandits resulted in the loss of innocent lives.

The governor’s visit was in response to the tragic incident, and he utilized the opportunity to instruct the Chairman of Dutsinma Local Government, Kabir Shema, to select five community representatives to participate in a crucial meeting.

The meeting aims to explore ways in which the state government can provide support to local security initiatives, serving as a supplementary defense mechanism.

Radda revealed that security personnel had been deployed to the village upon receiving intelligence about a planned attack, but unfortunately, the bandits struck shortly after the security team withdrew.

He expressed his deep regret over the tragic events and urged community members to remain alert and report any suspected collaborators with the bandits.

The governor’s visit was well-received by local dignitaries, including Mohammad Khamis, the member representing Dutsinma in the State Assembly, and Alhaji Sada Sada, the Yandakan Katsina District Head.

In a separate development, Governor Radda inspected the ongoing construction of a special model secondary school, known as a Smart School, in Radda, Charanci Local Government Area. During the inspection, he engaged with construction firms to ensure that the project is completed to the highest standards and within a timely manner.

Radda expressed his disappointment with the slow pace of work by some contractors.

The Smart School project is one of three initiatives launched by the Radda-led administration across the state’s three senatorial zones, aimed at providing access to quality education, particularly for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
