The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday inaugurated the newly completed Lodge Road in the Government Reserved Area of Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State and flagged off the construction of Sarkin Yaki Road in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge Local Government Area.

Mrs Tinubu, who was in the state for the launch of the Energise Commercialisation Now initiative, was accompanied by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, his wife and other senior government officials.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mustapha Muhammad, the projects are part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and stimulate economic activities in the state.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady highlighted the role of road infrastructure in development, noting that improved road networks facilitate movement, enhance security access and strengthen economic growth.

She also called for stronger collaboration among the three tiers of government to expand development projects to more communities.

Governor Yusuf, in his remarks, described the visit as a reflection of cooperative governance, adding that his administration remains committed to initiatives that support growth and urban development.

He said the projects are expected to improve transportation, create business opportunities and contribute to urban renewal within Kano metropolis.

The event attracted government officials, traditional leaders and political stakeholders, including the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, lawmakers and representatives of North-West governors.
