Facts Show Jailed Prof. Ogban was Rigging for PDP

Facts have emerged about the jailed Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) electoral officer, Prof Peter Ogban, who has been at the center of a controversy surrounding the Akwa Ibom North Senatorial election. Contrary to claims made by certain individuals, including @ruffydfire and @ChidiOdinkalu, Prof Ogban’s actions during the election have been exposed as a blatant attempt to manipulate the results in favor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Chris Ekpeyong.
According to court documents and eyewitness accounts, Prof Ogban, who served as the Returning Officer for the Akwa Ibom North Senatorial election, declared Senator Ekpeyong as the winner of the election, despite allegations of widespread irregularities and manipulation of results.
The main contender, Senator Godswill Akpabio, had his results cancelled in several areas, including his hometown, where a whopping 61,329 votes were annulled.
The Court of Appeal later upheld Senator Akpabio’s appeal, ordering a rerun election. The certified true copies of the judgments from the lower and appeal courts reveal that Senator Akpabio had, in fact, found Prof Ogban guilty of supporting another candidate to win the election.
This raises serious questions about Prof Ogban’s impartiality and integrity as an electoral officer.
In a surprising twist, Prof Ogban refused to testify on behalf of Senator Akpabio during the court proceedings, further fueling speculation about his involvement in the election manipulation. If Prof Ogban had indeed favored Senator Akpabio, as some have claimed, it is puzzling that he would not have testified on his behalf.
To set the record straight, Prof Ogban did not declare Senator Akpabio as the winner of the election. In fact, he declared Senator Ekpeyong as the winner, despite the allegations of irregularities.
This fact alone raises serious questions about the credibility of those who have been accusing Senator Akpabio of being the beneficiary of Prof Ogban’s actions.
We call on @ruffydfire, @ChidiOdinkalu, and other individuals who have been spreading misinformation about Senator Akpabio to retract their statements and apologize for misleading the public.
It is essential to rely on verifiable evidence and credible sources when discussing sensitive topics like election manipulation.
As Nigerians celebrate Workers’ Day, we must remember the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in our electoral processes. We must strive to promote a culture of truth and fairness, where individuals are held accountable for their actions, and the rule of law is upheld.
