Trump Issues Stern Warning as US-Iran Peace Talks Collapse

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

Peace talks in Islamabad have collapsed after 21 hours of failed negotiations. Vice President JD Vance confirmed the “bad news,” stating the US had presented its final offer regarding nuclear disputes and regional control.

President Trump responded with a severe ultimatum, declaring the US military “locked and loaded” for escalation. He warned that the lack of a deal would prove far more devastating for Tehran than for Washington.

Targeting Iranian leadership, Trump threatened total military destruction.

Escalating his rhetoric, he explicitly warned, “We will finish the little that is left of Iran,” signaling a shift toward total engagement.

The President also proposed a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to secure shipping routes. He claimed the US would “out-blockade” Iran, asserting other nations lack the courage to take such action.

This diplomatic failure ended a fragile 14-day ceasefire, sparking fears of renewed hostilities. International observers remain deeply concerned as the conflict continues to claim lives and disrupt global travel.

These talks were the most significant face-to-face attempt at peace since 1979. While Iran blamed “unreasonable demands,” the US maintains Tehran refused to abandon its nuclear ambitions, leaving the region on a knife-edge.
