Abiriba Leaders Declare Support for Otti Ahead of 2027 Polls

Leaders and stakeholders from Abiriba community in Abia State have declared their support for Governor Alex Otti ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made during a solidarity visit to the governor on April 5, led by community representatives under the Abiriba Enachioken group, according to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Njoku Ukoha.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, spokesperson Jackson Agbai Abba commended the administration’s development efforts, particularly in infrastructure, and pledged continued grassroots mobilisation to support the governor’s re-election.

He said the community had commenced voter registration drives and sensitisation campaigns across various locations, including Aba, Umuahia, Port Harcourt and Enugu, as well as among members in the diaspora.

The delegation noted that ongoing political developments involving individuals from the community do not reflect its collective position, maintaining that Abiriba remains aligned with the governor.

Also speaking, the Mayor of Ohafia Local Government Area, Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, said over 5,000 new voters had been registered in Abiriba through coordinated mobilisation efforts targeting rural and urban areas.

In his response, Otti appreciated the visit, describing it as a show of solidarity, and reaffirmed his administration’s relationship with the community.

He assured the delegation that requests related to road infrastructure, including expansion of existing projects, would be reviewed, adding that the government would support ongoing community-led initiatives.

The governor also encouraged eligible voters to participate in the continuous voter registration process and to return home to vote during elections.

Other speakers at the meeting reiterated the community’s political unity and support for the administration, describing the governor’s leadership as aligned with their development aspirations.
