Troops Foil Borno Terrorist Movement in Strategic Ambush
Troops of the 153 Task Force Battalion intercepted Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during a night ambush in Kirawa, Borno State.
Acting on credible intelligence, the unit occupied a known crossing point to disrupt insurgent logistics.
On the morning of March 30, soldiers engaged seven terrorists on motorcycles with disciplined gunfire. The insurgents were forced to retreat hastily, abandoning their equipment and fleeing into the surrounding terrain.
The military recovered a motorcycle, a magazine, and 19 rounds of 5.56mm NATO ammunition. Several terrorists are believed to have escaped with significant gunshot wounds during the brief but intense encounter.
Troops conducted a follow-up sweep of the withdrawal route to ensure the area was clear of remaining threats. No further contact was made, and the security of the immediate axis was successfully maintained.
Importantly, the Nigerian military reported zero casualties among its personnel. This operation underscores the success of intelligence-led strikes in neutralizing extremist movements and seizing NATO-standard weaponry from insurgents.
