Reps Deputy Speaker Condemns Deadly Jos Attack

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has denounced the violent attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area, describing the incident as both senseless and deeply troubling.

The assault, which reportedly took place on Sunday night, resulted in multiple fatalities and left several others injured, throwing the community into grief.

In a statement issued on Monday, Kalu expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the Plateau State Government. He also offered prayers for the quick recovery of those receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.

Highlighting the importance of protecting lives, the Deputy Speaker stressed that such acts of violence must not be allowed to persist, calling for immediate and decisive measures to address recurring insecurity in affected areas.

He reassured residents that security agencies are working to identify and apprehend those responsible, urging citizens to remain calm and support ongoing investigations by sharing any relevant information with authorities.

Kalu further emphasised the need to reinforce security in vulnerable communities, calling on all stakeholders to renew their commitment toward achieving lasting peace in Plateau State and across the country.
