Imo CP Inaugurates New Police Post in Assa

By Rachel Akper

The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, has officially inaugurated a new police post in Assa community, located in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, a prominent oil-producing region of the state.

The facility, constructed by Anoh Gas Processing Companies Limited (AGPC Ltd.) as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, aims to enhance security, maintain peace, and foster development within the host community.

The new police post is equipped with a modern administrative block, detention facility, interrogation room, police quarters, and advanced electronic equipment, designed to improve policing operations and response time in the area.

Speaking at the inauguration, CP Bosso commended AGPC Ltd. for the contribution and assured residents that adequate police personnel would be deployed to the post.

He also appealed to the community to support law enforcement by providing credible information on suspicious activities.

Local leaders, including the Traditional Ruler of Assa and the Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema LGA, expressed their gratitude for the facility, emphasizing its significance in strengthening community safety and cooperation with the police.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts in Imo State to bolster security infrastructure in oil-rich areas, ensuring both industrial operations and local communities benefit from enhanced safety measures.
