Governor Oborevwori’s Senior Protocol Aide Slumps, Dies

Tragedy struck the Delta State Government House following the sudden death of Sunday Kotor, the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The aide reportedly collapsed during a private event on Friday evening. Despite being rushed to a medical facility, doctors were unable to revive him.
Governor Oborevwori expressed deep sorrow, describing Kotor’s passing as a “painful loss” to the state. In a statement via his Chief Press Secretary, the Governor praised the late aide as a dedicated public servant.
He lamented that Kotor’s death is a significant blow to both the government and the people of Delta.
Kotor was a prominent figure in Asaba, having served as a Master of Ceremonies for over two decades. His career spanned several administrations, including those of former Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa. He was highly regarded for his expertise in anchoring official state functions and protocol.
A graduate of Mass Communication from Delta State University, Abraka, Kotor hailed from Okwagbe in the Ughelli South Local Government Area. His professional background and vibrant personality made him a mainstay at high-profile events. His expertise in event coordination earned him widespread respect across the state’s political landscape.
The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, including the deceased’s brother, Conference Kotor, who serves as a Senior Special Assistant on Media. Oborevwori noted that the late official’s contributions to state activities would be greatly missed. He offered prayers for the family during this difficult time.
The news has thrown family, colleagues, and associates into mourning, with many describing the death as shocking and devastating. Kotor’s longstanding service and energetic presence left a lasting impact on those he worked with. His sudden departure has left a significant void in the Delta State Government House.
