Igbo Monarchs Throw Weight Behind Tinubu, Pledge 70% Votes in 2027 Election

In a show of appreciation for the positive impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration on the South East economy, traditional rulers from the region have pledged to deliver a significant percentage of votes to the President in the 2027 general elections.
Led by Eze Nnamdi Oforegbu, the Chairman of the Ndi Igbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Council, the monarchs expressed their gratitude to the President for establishing the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which they believe will fast-track the region’s infrastructural growth.
During a courtesy visit to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, in Umuahia, the traditional rulers commended the legislative efforts that led to the creation of the SEDC.
They also praised President Tinubu for appointing Igbo sons to key positions, including the pioneer heads of the SEDC.
The monarchs assured the President of their loyalty and support, promising to mobilize at least 70% of the region’s votes in his favor during the next election. They emphasized that the President’s actions towards the South East have earned him their trust and loyalty.
Deputy Speaker Kalu welcomed the traditional rulers’ pledge, emphasizing that President Tinubu’s commitment to rewarding loyalty and his efforts to develop the South East region warrant their support. He expressed confidence that the President will continue to work towards the betterment of the region and the country at large.
The meeting marked a significant show of support for President Tinubu from the Igbo traditional rulers, who are influential figures in the region. Their endorsement is expected to boost the President’s chances in the 2027 election, as he seeks to consolidate his position and continue his development agenda for the country.
