The Yobe State Government has commenced the disbursement of March 2026 salaries to its workforce ahead of schedule to help civil servants prepare for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr festivities.
Governor Mai Mala Buni authorized the early payments, and the Ministry of Finance has already finalized the processing of funds to various banking institutions.
According to a report released by the state’s Digital and Strategic Communications unit on Wednesday, the decision was made to assist employees during the holiday season.
“This proactive measure is aimed at enabling workers and their families to prepare adequately and celebrate the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr with ease and dignity,” the statement read.
The administration emphasized that this early disbursement is a testament to its commitment to employee welfare, pointing out that salary payments have remained consistent throughout the current term.
“Since inception, the Buni-led administration has maintained a track record of paying salaries promptly and without fail, ensuring that civil servants receive their entitlements as and when due,” the unit stated.
Furthermore, the government noted that these financial commitments to the workforce are being met even as the state continues to fund various developmental initiatives.
“Yobe State Government has sustained this record while simultaneously executing impactful development projects across key sectors, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and agriculture,” the report noted.
The announcement concluded by suggesting that the early pay reflects the governor’s dedication to responsible and open leadership.
“This underscores Governor Buni’s focus on prudent resource management and transparent governance, all geared towards improving the quality of life for the people of Yobe State,” the statement said.
