The Nollywood film, Behind The Scenes has set a new record, emerging as the highest-grossing Nigerian movie in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

According to figures from FilmOne Entertainment, the movie has earned approximately £159,000 across both markets, surpassing previous Nollywood releases in the region.

Produced by acclaimed actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, Behind The Scenes explores the challenges of fame, success, and the emotional realities behind public admiration.

Analysts say the themes struck a chord with the Nigerian diaspora, driving its strong box office performance.

The film’s success is not limited to Europe. In North America, it has grossed around $249,000, while in Nigeria, it has pulled in over ₦2.7 billion, making it one of the country’s highest-grossing films of all time. Industry experts note that such figures reflect Nollywood’s growing international appeal and the increasing scale of Nigerian film productions, with some major titles now approaching ₦1 billion in production budgets.
