President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. He noted her prognosis is “excellent,” describing her as “one of the strongest people I know” as she begins immediate treatment.
In a personal statement, Wiles acknowledged the disease’s prevalence, noting “nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis.” Trump praised her decision to “take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY,” expressing full confidence in her medical team.
Wiles intends to maintain her high-level responsibilities throughout her recovery, a commitment Trump said makes him “very happy.” She expressed gratitude for the President’s “support and encouragement” while he highlighted her “Strength and her Commitment” to the job she loves.
The diagnosis arrives as the administration manages significant global tensions and upcoming midterm elections. Trump emphasized Wiles’ critical role, calling her “one of my closest and most important advisors” who remains “deeply committed to serving the American People.”
At 68, Wiles is the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff and a primary architect of Trump’s political rise. Known for her strategic mind, she has transitioned from a Florida campaign lead to the President’s most trusted counselor.
The President and First Lady Melania Trump reaffirmed their total support, stating they are “with her in every way.”
Trump concluded with an optimistic outlook for her health, declaring, “She will soon be better than ever!” as she balances treatment with her leadership role.
