Iran Urges Global Condemnation of War, Calls on BRICS to Help Restore Stability
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has called on international organisations to condemn what he described as a war against his country, urging the BRICS bloc to play a role in restoring stability amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Araghchi made the remarks while addressing the growing conflict involving Iran and its adversaries, insisting that global institutions must take a clear position against military actions targeting the country.
According to the Iranian diplomat, international and regional organisations have a responsibility to denounce aggression and work toward de-escalating the crisis, which has heightened fears of wider instability across the region.
He also stressed that BRICS—an economic and political alliance comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa—could play a constructive role in promoting dialogue and helping stabilise the volatile situation.
The foreign minister noted that the ongoing conflict risks undermining regional security and global economic stability, particularly as tensions involving United States, Israel and Iran continue to rise.
Araghchi’s comments come at a time when the Middle East is witnessing heightened military activity, including missile strikes and retaliatory attacks that have raised concerns among world powers and international organisations.
Diplomatic efforts are ongoing as several countries push for restraint and dialogue to prevent the conflict from escalating into a broader regional war.
