Uba Sani Distributes Intervention Support to 5,000 Cooperatives

The Governor of of Kaduna State, Uba Sani has distributed intervention support to 5,000 cooperatives across Kaduna State as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots economic activities and boost agricultural production.

The intervention, which targets farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs organised into cooperative groups, is aimed at empowering rural communities and improving livelihoods across the state.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Governor Sani said the initiative forms part of his administration’s commitment to supporting cooperative societies, which he described as key drivers of economic growth at the community level.

According to the governor, the programme is designed to provide the cooperatives with equipment and resources that will help expand their productivity, improve processing capacity, and reduce post-harvest losses.

He noted that agriculture remains a major pillar of Kaduna’s economy and emphasised that strengthening cooperatives would help farmers access better tools, increase output, and improve income generation.

Sani also urged beneficiaries to ensure the resources are properly managed and used collectively to benefit all members of the cooperatives.

The initiative is part of the state government’s broader strategy to promote inclusive development, create employment opportunities, and enhance food security across the state.

With thousands of farmers and small business owners expected to benefit directly and indirectly, the intervention is seen as a significant step toward strengthening rural economies in Kaduna State.
