Tinubu Vows to Protect Nigeria’s Unity, Security at Interfaith Iftar

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country will not allow agents of instability to undermine its peace, unity, and sovereignty. The assurance came during an interfaith breaking of the fast hosted by the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, attended by religious and traditional leaders from across Nigeria.

Addressing the gathering, President Tinubu acknowledged the vital roles of religious and community leaders in promoting stability and moral guidance within their communities. He noted that while security challenges remain, including acts of terrorism, the government remains resolute in its commitment to protect citizens and maintain national order.

The President also highlighted the administration’s economic progress, reporting improvements in pension disbursements and fiscal stability. He emphasized that Nigeria has avoided bankruptcy and that no state government is now forced to borrow from banks to pay workers’ salaries.

Looking ahead, President Tinubu reiterated plans to prioritize investments in critical sectors such as agriculture and education, aiming to leave a lasting legacy for future generations. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and assured them that his administration is committed to building a safer, more secure, and prosperous nation.

Representing religious authorities, the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, thanked the President for hosting leaders of the two major religions, calling the gathering a symbol of national unity. Leaders from the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Sultan of Sokoto, the Christian Association of Nigeria, ECWA, and traditional rulers from the six geopolitical zones attended the event.

The gathering provided an opportunity for interfaith dialogue and collaboration, with church leaders pledging support for government initiatives aimed at economic transformation and enhanced security.
