Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City Advance to FA Cup Quarter-finals

Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC and Manchester City all secured places in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after winning their fifth-round ties on Saturday.

At Molineux Stadium, Andy Robertson scored a stunning second-half opener to set Liverpool on their way to a 3–1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Scotland international broke the deadlock in the 51st minute with a powerful strike from around 25 yards that flew into the bottom-right corner beyond Sam Johnstone.

Liverpool doubled their lead two minutes later when Mohamed Salah converted Robertson’s cross, with the goal awarded after a Video Assistant Referee review overturned the offside flag. Curtis Jones added a third in the 74th minute before Hwang Hee-chan grabbed a late consolation for Wolves.

Meanwhile, Arsenal FC survived a scare to defeat Mansfield Town 2–1 at the One Call Stadium.

Noni Madueke fired the visitors ahead in the 41st minute, but Will Evans levelled shortly after the restart for Mansfield. The decisive moment came in the 66th minute when substitute Eberechi Eze unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the area to send Arsenal into the last eight.

At the Racecourse Ground, Chelsea FC needed extra time to overcome Wrexham AFC 4–2 in a dramatic encounter.

Wrexham twice took the lead, first through Sam Smith before an own goal brought Chelsea level. Callum Doyle restored Wrexham’s advantage late in normal time, but Josh Acheampong quickly equalised for the visitors.

The match turned when George Dobson was sent off in stoppage time, and Chelsea capitalised in extra time as Alejandro Garnacho volleyed home before Joao Pedro sealed the win with a late strike.

Elsewhere, Manchester City came from behind to defeat Newcastle United 3–1 at St James’ Park.

The hosts struck first in the 18th minute through Harvey Barnes, who finished from a pass by Sandro Tonali. City equalised before half-time when Savinho tapped in after a cross from Jeremy Doku.

The visitors then took control after the break, with Omar Marmoush scoring twice first from close range early in the second half and then with a powerful strike from outside the area to secure City’s progression to the quarter-finals.
