Four Arrested as NSCDC Dismantles Illegal Arms Factory in Katsina

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has dismantled an illegal arms factory in Kore Village, Katsina, following a strategic intelligence-led raid.

 

Four suspects were apprehended during the operation for their involvement in the clandestine manufacturing of firearms.

 

The arrested individuals include Haruna Lawal, Badamasi Kabiru, Hamza Lawal, and Sagir Abba. They were caught red-handed inside the facility while actively fabricating illegal weapons.

 

Authorities recovered a significant cache of weaponry, including eight skeletal rifles, five pistol grips, and several magazines. Numerous metal components and unfinished firearm parts were also seized at the site.

 

In addition to the arms, the squad confiscated industrial equipment such as welding machines, gas cylinders, and grinders. Two motorcycles and cash were also taken in evidence.

 

Commandant Abbas Dan-Ile Moriki stated that an investigation is underway to track down the syndicate’s buyers and accomplices. The suspects will be prosecuted according to the law once the inquiry concludes.

 

The NSCDC reaffirmed its dedication to curbing arms proliferation and protecting national infrastructure. The Command urged citizens to continue providing timely information to help sustain security across the state.
