The Delta State Police Command have successfully raided a criminal hideout at Adheje community along the Warri-Sapele Road.
The operation, led by the Command’s Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), targeted a notorious gang responsible for terrorizing commuters and residents in the area.
This breakthrough followed the interrogation of a 25-year-old suspect named Dafiaga Timothy. Information obtained from the suspect led operatives to a concealed armory on February 19, 2026. The police stated that the recovery of these weapons has significantly degraded the gang’s operational capacity.
During the search, officers recovered a cache of arms including a locally made long gun, a cut-to-size firearm, and a fabricated Beretta-style pistol. They also found ten live cartridges, five rounds of ammunition, and a dagger hidden within the hideout.
In a separate incident on February 18, police intercepted a tricycle on the Agbarho/Warri Expressway. While two occupants fled into the bush, the driver, Aliyu Sabo, was arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed a concealed pistol, ammunition, and various stolen personal items.
Additionally, police thwarted a robbery at a student hostel in Agbor after receiving a distress call. The criminals abandoned a fabricated pistol and several mobile phones while fleeing.
The area was cordoned off as authorities intensified efforts to track down the escaping suspects.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, praised his officers for their swift response and professionalism. He stated’ “The Command underscores its unwavering commitment to proactive crime prevention and the dismantling of criminal networks across the state.”
