EFCC Apprehends 24 Yahoo Boys in Abuja Raid

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 24 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja.

The arrests were made at Mararaba in Nasarawa State, following a tip-off on their alleged involvement in various cybercrimes.

According to a statement released by the EFCC, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Abuja Zonal Directorate, who had been tracking their activities for some time.

The Commission said that the arrests were made possible through actionable intelligence gathered on the suspects’ alleged involvement in cybercrimes, including online scams, phishing, and identity theft.

The EFCC has been at the forefront of the fight against cybercrime in Nigeria, and this latest operation is a testament to the Commission’s commitment to ridding the country of economic and financial crimes. The suspects, whose ages and identities have not been disclosed, are currently being interrogated by EFCC operatives and are expected to be charged to court soon.

Cybercrime has become a major concern in Nigeria, with many young people turning to online scams and other forms of cybercrime as a means of making quick money. The EFCC has reported a significant increase in the number of cybercrime cases in recent years, with many Nigerians falling victim to online scams and phishing attacks.

The Commission has warned Nigerians to be vigilant and cautious when online, and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The EFCC has also advised parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activities and to educate them on the dangers of cybercrime.

The EFCC has urged Nigerians to report any cases of cybercrime to the Commission’s hotline or to visit the EFCC website to report suspicious activities. The Commission has also promised to continue to work tirelessly to combat cybercrime and protect Nigerians from online scams and other forms of cybercrime.
