Abdul Samad Rabiu Inaugurates Custom 60-Meter Baglietto Superyacht

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

Nigerian billionaire and industrialist Abdul Samad Rabiu has commissioned a 60-meter superyacht from the renowned Italian shipbuilder Baglietto.

This move places the BUA Group founder among an exclusive group of African elites who own custom-made luxury vessels.

Rabiu announced the news on his Facebook page, sharing a simple message: “60 metres in the making. Thanks, Fabio and James. #ASR.” This indicates that the high-end project is currently underway or in its early planning stages.

Baglietto, based in Italy, is famous for crafting prestigious yachts between 40 and 60 meters. These vessels are typically designed for long-range cruising and include top-tier amenities suitable for international travel and corporate hosting.

Industry experts note that a superyacht of this size requires complex custom architecture and extensive engineering. The construction process often spans several years, depending on the specific luxury requirements of the client.

As the chairman of BUA Group, Rabiu oversees a massive conglomerate with interests in cement, sugar, flour, and infrastructure. His business success has consistently ranked him among the wealthiest individuals on the African continent.

The 60-meter Baglietto serves as both a status symbol and a functional asset for Rabiu’s leisure and business lifestyle. This commission underscores the growing trend of African industrial magnates investing in bespoke European luxury assets.
