Israeli Attacks Kill 11 in Gaza Amid $5bn Peace Pledge

At least 11 Palestinians were killed Sunday in Israeli strikes across Gaza, hitting displaced persons’ tents in Jabalia and targets in Khan Younis.
These attacks represent the latest breach of the ceasefire that officially began on October 10.
Casualties included five people in northern Gaza and five in the south, while an airstrike in Gaza City killed a PIJ commander.
The strikes occurred despite ongoing international efforts to stabilize the region and maintain the fragile truce.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem condemned the violence as a “clear attempt to impose a bloody reality on the ground and send a message that all efforts and bodies concerned with establishing calm in Gaza are meaningless.”
Official Gaza records indicate over 600 deaths since the ceasefire started, with thousands of reported violations. While Israel blames Hamas for the instability, the persistent violence continues to hinder humanitarian and diplomatic progress.
Simultaneously, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that his “Board of Peace” has secured $5 billion for Gaza’s reconstruction. He also promised an international stabilization force to provide long-term security and oversight for the war-torn territory.
The Board of Peace will hold its inaugural meeting this Thursday in Washington, D.C. Although some nations have pledged billions to join, the initiative remains controversial as it seeks to bypass traditional United Nations mediation.
