The Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru has arrested a 25-year-old Nigerian, Uche Ndudi, for alleged drug peddling.
The operation followed a targeted raid in the K.R. Puram area based on specific intelligence regarding the local sale of narcotics.
Authorities seized high-grade cocaine worth approximately ₹50.6 lakh (over ₦100 million) during the arrest. Along with the drugs, police recovered a mobile phone and a motorcycle reportedly used by the suspect to distribute the illicit substances across the city.
The raid was part of a larger sweep by the CCB to dismantle regional drug syndicates. In a separate operation the same day, another individual was caught with hydro ganja, bringing the total value of narcotics seized during the crackdown to nearly ₹1 crore.
Investigators believe the suspect used his local residence as a front to manage a secret distribution network. Police are currently analyzing his call records and financial transactions to track down his suppliers and other members of the cartel.
Indian anti-narcotics agencies have ramped up vigilance against transnational drug trafficking. The CCB is collaborating with other security wings to sever supply chains and ensure all individuals linked to these international networks face prosecution.
Detailing the arrest, the CCB noted, “Acting on specific information that a foreign national residing within the limits of K.R. Puram police station was involved in drug peddling, the CCB conducted an operation and arrested Ndudi.”
