KWASU Student Dies in Fatal Car Accident Heading for Exam

The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has confirmed the death of one of its final-year students, Idris Agboluaje, following a road accident in Malete on Wednesday.

Dr. Kikelomo Sallee, the university’s Registrar, stated on Thursday that Agboluaje was en route to campus to sit for an examination when the fatal crash occurred.

“The university extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the student who passed away in this tragic accident. We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a bright young man and pray for comfort for his loved ones and the entire KWASU community,” Dr. Sallee said.

Reports suggest that Agboluaje, a Business Education student, had been prevented from entering the examination hall because he did not have his student ID with him. In an attempt to return to the campus gate quickly, he lost control of his vehicle, resulting in the accident.

The Association of Business Educators of Nigeria, KWASU Chapter, expressed profound grief over the loss, calling it a significant blow to the department. “Our thoughts are with his family, classmates, and friends during this incredibly difficult period,” the association said in a statement.
