Tinubu Sends Sympathy Message Amid Double Tragedy in Super Eagles Camp
President Bola Tinubu has sent a message of condolence to Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze following the death of his mother, Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze.
The message, issued on Thursday through the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family and close associates of the deceased, who passed away earlier the same day.
Tinubu described the loss as particularly painful, noting that it comes shortly after another tragedy within the national football team, with Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi recently losing his father.
The President said the successive bereavements had placed emotional strain on the players and assured the affected families of his personal concern and prayers during the period of grief.
He encouraged the Chukwueze family to take comfort in the memories and legacy left behind by their late matriarch, while praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze’s passing comes less than two days after the death of Sunday Ndidi, father of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, who reportedly died in a road accident.
