Nigerian VP urges Nigerians to Embrace Tolerance, Unity

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to prioritize tolerance and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that the nation’s shared heritage and unity are far stronger than the forces attempting to divide the people.

The Vice President made this appeal on Wednesday during a visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, HRH Jacob Gyang Buba, in Jos, Plateau State.

In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima expressed his belief that Nigeria possesses the potential to become one of the world’s greatest nations if its citizens learn to live together harmoniously.

Stressing the importance of national cohesion, Shettima noted that the ties between Nigerians are deep-rooted and should be protected against any form of division to ensure a stable future for all.

The Vice President stated, “We are all connected one way or the other. We must, therefore, continue to live together. What binds us together supersedes what separates us.”

During the visit, he also highlighted the vital role of traditional rulers as custodians of cultural heritage and peace, describing them as essential pillars in the ongoing effort to build a stable and prosperous nation.
