Kanu Visits APC Chairman as Talks Focus on Sports, Politics, Business 

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, has hosted former Super Eagles captain and football legend Nwankwo Kanu at his residence in Abuja, where discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between politics, sports and business for national development.

According to a statement on the meeting, the discussions explored ways to harmonise the interplay among the three sectors to achieve greater national benefit.

Professor Yilwatda noted that politics, sports, and business can be highly impactful when properly understood and aligned toward common goals.

The APC chairman highlighted the importance of deep engagement across the sectors, stressing that better balance and synergy could drive holistic national growth.

Kanu, popularly known as “Papilo,” shared insights from his experience as a former Super Eagles captain, UEFA Champions League winner, and Premier League star with Arsenal.

He also spoke on his current roles in sports administration, business, and philanthropy through the Kanu Heart Foundation.

The meeting reflects the increasing engagement between Nigeria’s political leadership and prominent sports personalities, aimed at fostering dialogue on inclusive national development initiatives.
