Lagos Council Boss Donates Generators, Printers to Boost APC Epe E-Registration
The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has donated generators and printers to wards across the council area to strengthen the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise.
The donation is intended to address operational challenges—particularly erratic electricity supply—that have slowed the production of party membership identity cards and affected the smooth execution of the digital registration process at the grassroots level. Speaking during the presentation of the equipment, Animashaun said the initiative was aimed at ensuring seamless registration, faster processing of members’ data, and uninterrupted printing of identity cards. I did this because of the epileptic power supply in the entire council, so as to make it easier for them in producing identity cards for our members during the ongoing e-registration exercise,” she said. The council chair stressed that strengthening party membership is essential for electoral success, especially as political parties begin early preparations for the 2027 general elections. To win elections, the APC must record massive votes. This can only be achieved when members of the party are duly registered as bona fide members,” she added. The APC’s e-registration drive is part of a broader effort to modernise the party’s membership database, improve transparency, and expand its grassroots support base across Lagos State. The initiative seeks to replace outdated manual records with a digitised system that enhances data accuracy and organisational efficiency Party leaders and stakeholders in Epe Local Government have commended Animashaun’s intervention, describing it as a timely boost to the registration process. Former Supervisory Councillor for Environment, Shamusideen Yusuf, praised the council chair’s commitment, saying her action reflects strong dedication to party growth and grassroots development Her actions have shown the undiluted love she has for the party and the people. She has written her name in gold in the hearts of party members,” Yusuf said Ward officials also noted that the new equipment will reduce downtime caused by power outages, speed up registration, and encourage more residents to enroll as official party members. The donation aligns with a wider trend among APC leaders in Lagos, who have been providing digital tools, printers, tablets, power equipment, and manpower to support the party’s statewide e-registration campaign. Political observers say such investments are designed to strengthen internal party structures, improve voter mobilisation, and enhance competitiveness ahead of future elections As the APC intensifies efforts to expand its membership base, initiatives like this are expected to play a key role in boosting grassroots participation and consolidating the party’s political presence in Lagos State.
