Borno CP Vows Tighter Security, Visits 5 LGs

The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, has concluded an extensive two-day operational tour across five local government areas in the Borno South Senatorial District.
The tour, which commenced on January 19, 2026, included visits to Bayo, Kwaya Kusar, Shani, Hawul, and Biu. According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Nahum Daso, the primary objective of the mission was to strengthen community engagement and build public confidence in the police force.
During his visit, the Commissioner focused on the importance of traditional institutions in maintaining regional stability.
He paid courtesy visits to the Emir of Biu and the Emir of Shani, where he was formally received alongside members of the Command’s management team.
These meetings highlighted the collaborative effort between law enforcement and local leadership to ensure that security measures are culturally sensitive and community-driven.
While assessing the operational readiness of the Biu Area Command and various Police Divisions, CP Abdulmajid held interactive sessions with officers of all ranks. He praised the personnel for their resilience and dedication to sustaining peace in a challenging environment.
However, he also issued a firm warning regarding the ethics of the force, charging the officers to “remain disciplined, resolute, and to eschew corruption and all forms of unprofessional conduct.”
The Commissioner addressed the evolving nature of crime in the region by promising a significant boost to the local security infrastructure. In a formal remark, he vowed that: “The Command will deploy additional manpower and logistical support, while also enhancing training and retraining programmes to effectively address contemporary security challenges.”
This commitment is part of a broader strategy to modernize the force’s response to local threats.
The tour concluded with a reassurance to the citizens of Borno State regarding the protection of lives and property. CP Abdulmajid emphasized that the Command remains unwavering in its commitment to safety and announced that the operational tours would be extended to other local government areas across the state.
This proactive approach aims to ensure that no part of the state is left vulnerable to security breaches.
