NDDC Pledges Continued Support for Security Agencies in Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pledged continued support for security agencies in the Niger Delta.
Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku made this commitment during a visit from Rear Admiral Olugbenga Oladipo of Operation Delta Safe at the commission’s Port Harcourt headquarters.
Dr. Ogbuku emphasized that a secure environment is the essential foundation for regional progress. Aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the commission remains dedicated to providing security personnel with the resources needed to maintain order and stability.
Recognizing the region’s vital role in Nigeria’s economy, the NDDC boss noted that instability would threaten national prosperity. He attributed the current relative peace to the coordinated efforts of security forces in protecting critical infrastructure and lives throughout the area.
The commission has previously supported these agencies by providing operational vehicles and installing solar-powered lighting at police commands.
These interventions are part of a broader strategy to equip and empower those responsible for safeguarding the Niger Delta’s residents and assets.
Stressing the vital link between safety and growth, Dr. Ogbuku stated: “Without security, there will be no development. Our roles are intertwined, and we are all working towards the mandate of Mr. President. No matter what we have done so far, we are not there yet until development reaches every doorstep in the Niger Delta region.”
