APC Hails Governor Oborevwori’s Developmental Strides, Groundbreaking Flyover Projects
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his purposeful leadership and delivery of critical infrastructure across the state.
In a statement issued today, the APC highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s recent groundbreaking of the Uromi-Junction Flyover at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, a project awarded to Julius Berger for N59.7 billion with a 14-month delivery timeline. The project addresses a notorious traffic interchange, notorious for ghastly accidents, and is expected to benefit not only local residents but also Nigerians traversing major East-West, North-South routes, improving travel, boosting economic activity, easing traffic gridlock, and enhancing security.
The statement noted that this flyover follows the Governor’s earlier groundbreaking of the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, as well as other flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, and Enerhen Junction, reflecting his commitment to expanding critical urban infrastructure and improving the quality of life for Delta residents.
Beyond roads and flyovers, the APC credited Governor Oborevwori’s administration for implementing the MORE (Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security) agenda, including clearing pension backlogs, investing in human capital, providing monthly stipends to 10,000 widows, and supporting micro, small and medium enterprises.
The Governor has also prioritised tertiary education funding and acquisition of advanced medical equipment for state hospitals.
The APC further praised Oborevwori for aligning Delta State’s economic policies with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Governor has leveraged the state’s improved financial capacity to deliver dividends of democracy and contribute to federal revenue expansion.
Governor Oborevwori’s political leadership was also highlighted, particularly his April 2025 decision to lead the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Delta State into the APC, a move described as inspiring other opposition leaders to join the ruling party and supporting transformative economic reforms.
The Agbor flyover groundbreaking ceremony drew dignitaries from within and outside the community, including the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme; former state governors; legislators; top APC officials; and other senior government representatives.
The APC concluded by urging Governor Oborevwori to sustain his commitment to improving the living conditions and common good of all Deltans.
The press statement was signed by Felix Morka, CON, National Publicity Secretary of the APC.
