Nigeria Police Congratulates Retired CP Owoseni on Oyo State Traditional Title
The Nigeria Police Force has congratulated retired Commissioner of Police, Fatai A. Owoseni on his conferment as Atunluse-Ilu Adini of Oyo State by the Chief Imam of Ibadan and the League of Imams and Alfas of Oyo State.
The honour recognises his contributions to peace, security, and community development.
CP Owoseni served the Nigeria Police Force for over 35 years, holding leadership positions in multiple state commands, including Lagos and Benue, as well as the Force Criminal Investigation Department and the Department of Operations at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
He also participated in United Nations peacekeeping missions in Darfur, Sudan, and Angola, providing strategic advice on policing and security management.
A scholar and security expert, Owoseni holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies (Security Sector Management) from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin.
He has undergone extensive international training in security, emergency management and conflict resolution.
In retirement, he continues to contribute to public safety and community development as Special Adviser on Security and Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, a security consultant to JAMB, principal partner at HK-George Consults Limited and founder of the Ayesha-Nihinlola Foundation.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, congratulated Owoseni and wished him continued success, good health and lasting impact in service to Oyo State and Nigeria.
